Jobs and other opportunities

Join us as a volunteer for ‘The Streets

The Streets is an ambitious and dynamic programme which will bring high quality music and performance to high streets across seven outer-London boroughs in 2015 and 2016. Designed to showcase the local streetscape and unlock the potential of high streets, local residents, businesses and visitors will be encouraged to rediscover and reclaim their public space.  We are looking for a team of volunteers to work in each of the seven boroughs involved in this summer’s Streets activity. If you have great face-to-face and verbal communications skills and want to gain valuable hands-on events experience, then this could be the opportunity for you.

The role
Volunteering for The Streets will have at its core a focus on engaging with your borough’s local community. This will range from acting as a point of reference for locals and visitors, who may not know the reasons for bringing arts and entertainment to London’s high streets, to handing out performance information and flyers.

We will also need some volunteers to liaise with artists on-site prior to their performances, to carry out ‘Meet and Greets’ and to assist with the physical setting up of the venues being used.

Benefits for you
•    Meeting like-minded people
•    The opportunity to gain hands-on events experience
•    The opportunity to develop your organisational and interpersonal skills
•    By volunteering for The Streets you will become an integral part of a huge, London-wide community engagement project. Our team of friendly, warm and informed volunteers will have a really positive effect on the experience that the general public has of The Streets
