Ute Lemper’s concert this Saturday at the Queen Elizabeth Hall has been re-scheduled to Saturday 11 December.

Ute has gone into hospital for minor back surgery today, and her doctors have said that she needs several days of bed rest after the surgery, making it impossible for her to perform this Saturday.

Tickets for her concert this Saturday, which was completely sold out, will remain valid for the re-scheduled concert in December. Once ticket holders have been accommodated any remaining tickets for the new date will be available to buy.

Ballake Sissoko & Vincent Segal are set to play a free concert in the Purcell Room on Saturday at 8pm.

Ute Lemper, one of the world’s great cabaret singers, celebrates the tango and the music of Astor Piazzolla, with some of his most dramatic and sensual songs about love, life, death, fatality, passion and survival in Buenos Aires. The destiny of these songs takes us on a journey through the dark alleys of Berlin, New York and Paris, drawing in evocative tangos from the pens of Kurt Weill and Jacques Brel.

Ballaké Sissoko is one of Mali’s great exponents of the kora – joining forces with cellist Vincent Ségal, they have made a sublime CD Chamber Music which was voted International Jazz Album of the Year in France. After sensational shows with Cesaria Evora and Bassekou Kouyate, another chance to hear their thrilling duet.
