With an impressionistic, classically trained sensibility at the heart of his playing, pianist Leszek Mozdzer epitomises the excitement that's currently present in his native Poland's jazz scene.
Performing from his much-admired new ACT CD, Komeda, Mozdzer fittingly pays homage to an icon of Polish music, pianist and composer Krzysztof Komeda, whose immeasurable contribution to the evolution of Polish jazz during the 1960s was matched by his landmark film scores, including the early movies of Roman Polanski such as the classic Rosemary's Baby.
