- Portico Quartet 2012 tour
Hot on the heels of two sold-out shows at the London Jazz Festival 2011, Portico Quartet step out on a UK tour with their third, self-titled album, due for release on Real World Records in early 2012.
Melting together Burial-inspired beats, fiery saxophones and ethereal hang with a very modern kind of jazz improv, their translucent music can both mesmerise and thrill.
'Genuinely innovative…there isn’t a band that sounds remotely like them.' Observer
'They feed on Steve Reich mathematics, Radiohead dread, African desert grooves and ECM northern melancholy to travel into a new, chiming cavernous sound-world that is exotic and hypnotic.' Mojo
Support comes from Matthew Halsall.
